Girl Scouts around the world are celebrating National Girl Scout Bridging Week, which will take place May 4 through May 11!

Bridging is a longstanding tradition in Girl Scouting, in which girls celebrate their achievements from the past year and look forward to the exciting new challenges in the year ahead. The ceremony commemorates Girl Scouts as they bridge to a new level; often taking place at the beginning or end of the Girl Scout year.

Luckily, there is no shortage of bridges in NYC, from small stone bridges over streams in local parks, the mighty Brooklyn Bridge, or a handmade bridge made of balloons and string, your girls have plenty of options! Keep the planning of your troops’ bridging ceremony girl-led, ensuring they have a fun, memorable ceremony no matter where they choose to bridge!

Join us on May 4th, for a Brooklyn Bridging! Registration is free and open to every Girl Scout Level. Troops will receive a patch and have the option to purchase t-shirts (before April 18th) and Bridging Kits through the registration form.

If you have questions about this event, please email Jenna Palermo at jpalermo@girlscoutsnyc.org. Don’t forget to tag us @girlscoutsnyc and use the hashtag #BrooklynBridging to celebrate your Girl Scout pride!
